Comfortable moving between musical worlds rather than being defined by a single genre.
As a saxophonist, Jordon is comfortable moving between musical worlds rather than being defined by a single genre. His repertoire and performance experience draw from jazz, pop, R&B, soul, gospel, hip-hop, rock, contemporary, classical, and other styles, allowing him to adapt his sound to the setting and audience. Whether performing a featured saxophone solo, interpreting a familiar song, improvising with a live ensemble, or providing music for an elegant event, his approach centers on strong musicianship, musicality, and connecting with the audience.
In addition to saxophone, Jordon is an experienced keyboardist, arranger, band director, and music educator, giving him a broader musical perspective than performance alone. His work as an educator and ensemble director has included developing instrumental music programs, directing student ensembles, arranging music, and introducing musicians to both traditional and contemporary approaches to music-making.
Jordon also performs in a variety of configurations, from solo saxophone performances to small ensembles and collaborative performances with vocalists and other musicians. This flexibility allows him to tailor performances to everything from intimate cocktail hours and wedding ceremonies to receptions, restaurants, festivals, and larger events.
At the center of Jordon's work is a commitment to creating performances that feel musical, engaging, polished, and appropriate for the moment, bringing together his background as a trained musician, educator, arranger, and live performer to create an experience that extends well beyond any one genre.
